Once again we have gotten a little behind in keeping our blog up to date. There has been a lot going which means there is a lot to post, yet so little time to actually sit down and do it.
Memorial Day Weekend was also Dave's birthday weekend and Becca granted him his wish to stay in the valley for the weekend as opposed to travel. Why would we ever want to leave?
Dave's day was on Saturday and it was perfect!! The day started with a round of golf with two of Dave's friends from the neighborhood, one age 60ish and the other age 72. Yes, Dave is old before his time, but he makes it a point to spend time on the golf course with people that he can out drive. Nothing like massaging the ego just a little.
After golf, we opened gifts and once again Dave hit the jackpot. One of his favorites was a pewter plane that both he and Genevieve love. In addition, he really likes the new ClearPlay DVD player that Becca got him. ClearPlay lets you download filters that allow you to watch movies without the profanity, nudity and violence. I think it is time to add Shawshank Redemption to our Netflix queue.
Perhaps the best gift was a handheld Uno game that G picked out all by herself. Her and her daddy are both very excited about it.
In the afternoon, we had a very low key BBQ/party with two families that we think are great. Just Dave's style, just a few people and lots of good conversation.
On Memorial Day, we hopped on the bikes bright and early and rode into town for breakfast at Dave's favorite breakfast joint, The Village Smithy. The last section of a bike path that allows us to ride all the way from Glenwood to Aspen had just opened up and we are stoked to start to use it more. It is nice to ride a few miles to breakfast and not have to ride on the street. To facilitate more bike riding, we got G a Disney Princesses helmet and some rockin' knee pads. As you can see she loves to model them and thinks she is so cool (she is!). After the ride, she wanted to keep the gear on and thought that the helmet and knee pads were the perfect attire for playing in the yard for over an hour after we got home.
All in all, it was a fantastic weekend! Thank you Becca and Genevieve for making it so great.

I've very intrigued with the idea of a ClearPlay DVD player. I think my Dave would love that.
So have you tried it out? Does it work? Do you like it?
How much does it cost to be a "member" each year?
