If you follow our blog with any regularity you know that our posts are sporadic and far from "real time". In keeping with that tradition, Becca has been on me to post this event from a couple of months ago.
One of the perks of my job is that the company has some great sports tickets that every now and then become available to their lowly controller. Fortunately for me, in late March I was able to take some friends to the game and use the courtside tickets for a Nuggets game against the Clippers.
It was great to be so close to the action. Being right on the sidelines let me make the following observations:
1. There is a ton of contact in the NBA. If you are going to get the ball in the post in the NBA, you are going to get beat up pretty badly before the entry pass comes in.
2. If the refs called a double dribble everytime someone carried the ball in the NBA the game would be nothing but turnovers with no shots taken.
3. I tried to count the tattoos on Denver's starting five and gave up.
4. The Nugget's dance team plays far too big of a role in the overall entertainment experience at a game. Too much make-up, too much fake baking and too many fake boobs.
5. NBA refs are pretty personable guys. It was great to talk to them a little during time-outs.
