Strawberry Days

In the town next to us, there is an annual celebration called Strawberry Days. Since we were still getting settled in the area last summer, I thought that this summer we should get to know more of the local events that take place in this great place where we live. Genevieve and I headed down on Friday afternoon, along with a friend and her daughter, so that we wouldn't drag Dave there if it wasn't worth his time. I was pleasantly surprised, and Genevieve LOVED it! We had such a good time that we asked Dave to drive down after work and meet us there for dinner. We ran into friends and visited while Genevieve was able to dance to the live band and stay up past her bedtime. It was great! After a special breakfast outing at Village Inn the next morning, we even went back to enjoy it a bit more.

On Friday, when we approached the park, Genevieve squealed with delight to see all of the people, (she's a very social little girl).  When she saw the riding ponies and the petting zoo area, though, there was no holding back!  Her squeals and "YEA!!"'s caught everyone's attention.  She was very excited.  How often do you see so much all in one place?

By far, Genevieve's favorite thing at the Strawberry Days was the mini-train.  She love watching and riding it.  When she woke up the following morning, one of the first things she said was "choo-choo!" as she signed for it, too. She knew what she wanted to do!  How could we not go back?

I love the parts of small town life like this festival.  We live in a fun place.
