The day after baby Brooks and Mommy returned home from the hospital, it was Genevieve's turn to shine! It was her third birthday and a day that she had been looking forward to for the last six months. (Truly, six months, since she knew that her brother was arriving in time for her birthday!) Thank goodness for my mom, we were able to give her the fun celebration that she deserved. A special birthday breakfast with cinnamon rolls, swimming and a picnic at the pool, Genevieve's favorite homemade macaroni and cheese for dinner, and a princess cake to top it all off! She even helped Grandma do the sprinkles for her cake. (Thanks, Dave, for figuring out how to keep the cake holding together!)
When we went downstairs to open her birthday gifts, she immediately began to jump up and down and dance with excitement to see a wagon of her very own. She had her prince take her on a carriage ride in it through "the forest" as she wore her new Snow White dress. Thanks, Prince Ferdinand.

She, also, loves her new art easel for painting and coloring her masterpieces. Who wouldn't be inspired?

The added bonus of a princess cake is that princesses sing happy birthday, too. Sorry if the camera is wobbly from laughing!
Here are three things that we love about Genevieve:
1) You have a great imagination for playing and the cutest big brown eyes when you get excited.
2) You are so social and love making new friends.
3) You have the sweetest little heart and help out so much.
Genevieve, thanks for blessing our home and lives for the past three years. We love you!!!

You are darling Bec. I love that you wrote a note to G explaining what you love about her. I can't believe you're able to pull everything off! You're terrific. And I loved hearing your "voice" in the birthday video laughing.
Hugs, Jen
Soooo cute! Happy Birthday, Genevieve! Barbie's solo was definitely something special, too. Hope you are doing well, Becca. Love you.
Wow! Swimming and a picnic - hope daddy was doing that with her. Genabobo - we love you - happy birthday! We are so excited to see you and meet your new baby brother someday! And Cade really wants to meet you too. I love your hair - it looks curly. Could that be true?
Grandma S took her swimming and for a picnic. Thank goodness for her! The doctor would have had my head if I had tried that. We had a fun day, though!
Congrats on the new baby. Looks like you guys are doing great.
